Parental
Responsibility Evaluation
This
service provides for a comprehensive evaluation to assist parents
and the court system in resolving parental responsibilities (parenting
time disputes). The goal of this service is to provide a plan
to maximize each child’s development and to improve parent-child
relationships whenever possible.
Child
and Family Investigator
A Child
and Family Investigator (CFI) is a court appointed professional
who evaluates the family and provides information and recommendations
to the court. In that role, the CFI conducts a timely and efficient
investigation of the family using interviews, observation of interactions,
and other sources of data needed to accomplish the task. A brief
report is then filed with the court. The primary goal is to arrive
at a set of parenting time and parental decision-making recommendations,
which are practical for the family and allow for the continued
healthy development of the children.
Parenting
Coordinator
A parenting
coordinator (PC) assists parents or guardians in managing, containing
and reducing their conflict in a manner that primarily benefits
children. The PC assists them in improving communications related
to parenting time and decision-making issues. The PC is trained
and experienced in working with divorcing and divorced parents.
Parenting
Plan Consultant
A parenting
plan consultant assists both parents in building a parenting plan
which is beneficial to their children. Each parenting plan defines
parenting time between parent and child, specifications for parental
decision-making, and a mechanism for resolving disputes in the
future.
Therapeutic
Parenting Time (TPT)
Therapeutic
parenting time (TPT) is a proactive process which seeks to make
each parent-child interaction an opportunity to establish or re-establish
a relationship, to resolve conflict, and build or rebuild a relationship.
A family history is constructed by obtaining data from a variety
of sources such as family members, attorneys, or previous therapists.
Children are seen individually to evaluate their sensitivities
to the current family situation and assess their ability to benefit
from TPT.
